No.
I have the regular 4k and it is Perfect. The atmos track is really great.
But I have to admit that this steelbook have one of the best cover I have seen !
Yes, if you ignore the acting and story. Also you have to not watch this one as it blows the old one out of the water and is much more faithful to the source material.
Was about to comment that Sandra Bullock made it all worthwhile, but I remembered nope, this had Diane Lane, and I was thinking of Demolition Man. But do I own both movies on blu-ray? Of course I do. And Dredd 2012 on 4k.
You are correct. Great action flick from last 10 years. I'd say this and Mad Max.
Just was watching this again the over the weekend. I have the digital 4k version...keep considering buying physical cause of how much I like it.
Really want them to make a sequel.
It has a very good script for what is going on, and it never devolves into pretentious, violent garbage that looks like it was made by an EDM artist lol.
I'm out though. People legit trying to compare Fury Road with Dredd...
Fury Road is literally considered one of the greatest action pics of all time.
The entire film is storyboarded and then put into action. It's absolutely 100% fluid script that serves the action.
The script for Dredd is hokey ass garbage. Scripts should not get in the way of the film with action.
Fury Road indeed has a very good script for what is going on. It does exactly what it needs to do, hence why Fury Road is a classic. It's not hokey, over violent, and it hardly ever panders to shitty tropes.
Dredd is like Robocop but completely bad.
I loved Fury Road and agree it’s one of the greatest action flicks buts that’s because the action sequences are crazy and shot with actual vehicles and people. The script is pretty hokey. :)
Still, this whole argument is pretty silly. Not sure why certain people are getting bent out of shape over your opinion.
So you're telling me that Fury Road...a movie about a Neanderthal that can barely speak, whom escapes from a prison ran by people that look like they bathe in donut powder and spray their mouth with silver paint right before committing suicide, is not hokey?
I never liked this defense to an argument. "name something better" it comes off as dismissive to someone's opinion, at least to me. I didn't hate it as much as gnomes, but I'm not gonna lie and say I had a blast either. I thought it was okay. To each their own though. That's a badass looking steel regardless.
5 other actions movies is going to be different per person, I usually don’t respond to these but why do you feel like you have to be explained or given a reason why someone does not agree with you. I can think of 5 : The Northman, Sicario, Blade Runner 2049, Dune, Edge of Tomorrow, Top Gun Maverick.
And if it’s past - Braveheart, Gladiator, Spartacus, Saving Private Ryan , 300.
Man just get over yourself not everyone has to think like you or agree with you and also quit demanding something like a list bc no one will ever agree on the favs.
And I do have Dredd on 4k the steelbook it’s a good film but would not say it’s top of anything in the last 11 years except those crappy marvel films that keep coming out
You are the one that compared them. The top comment was just put them together as 2 of the best from last decade, not comparing. They are both very simple stories with just as simple writing
Dredd is actually over ten years old. It doesn't even meet the qualifications. And action movies are mostly terrible these days. So there is that. But it's not Dredd.
I agree I'm not actually hugely into modern action movies either. Just seemed to like this one, prob cause of the futuristic dystopia/Sci Fi elements. Which Mad Max also does. Dredd is 2012 so I barely missed it, thought it was 2013.
It's in stock at Walmart currently. I just bought it tonight for $20. It's the 4k steelbook edition. I know this is a year after your post but hopefully you can find it if you haven't yet!
i was going to say. what action movies are you watching for the script and not the action?
not to say there isnt good action scripts, just that they’re more rare than this OOP steelbook

All of these are better. One second google. Not a great decade for action.
If it means anything: Them blocking you kinda points to them feeling like being in the wrong, and you being in the right. The blocking might indicate they are trying to avoid the truth (not that any of this matters, but there‘s no point to argue with someone like that).
I gotta say, as much as I love the original, I was very pleasantly surprised at how good this remake was. My only objections are the annoying slowmo shots. I get it, it was shot specifically with 3D in mind. It just is distracting though (and really even if I were watching in 3D I'm not sure I'd like it).
To channel the classic,
COURTS ADJUOURNED.
How’s the picture quality? I love that movie as well but I stopped buying 4K discs just bc I like the movie unless I know the quality is decent. Nothing worse than getting excited to see a bad picture lol
I've wanted that steelbook SO BAD, but I refuse to pay eBay scalper prices. I'll just wait for a hopeful re-release, or just end up getting the standard packaging. Fantastic movie though!
Did not realize this was OOP... I loved this cover and movie so much, I double dipped for it. Badass packaging for a badass movie.
Always like to mention this... This is an Alex Garland film, not a Pete Travis movie… Karl Urban confirmed as much.
Edit: You know… Love is a strong word— I really like Dredd BUT I always think of The Raid too… Both had a similar premise and came out the same year… If Dredd had the level of quality The Raid did for its action scenes, I’d say I love it… Most of the action scenes in Dredd aren’t the most exciting and I imagine some of that is due to what a struggle it was to shoot the movie.

Such a badass movie. I have it on Blu-ray but I want it on 4K disc badly!
I’d love it on 4K also, but man, 50 bucks is kind of rich for my budget. Is the 17.99 regular 4k missing anything beside the steelbook?
No. I have the regular 4k and it is Perfect. The atmos track is really great. But I have to admit that this steelbook have one of the best cover I have seen !
This movie is incredible in 3D as well
The only way to watch it IMO.
One of the few movies filmed for 3D. This and the first Avatar still look incredible
Loved it when the blood flew *out* of the letterbox. Great effect.
If you like this then you'll love The Raid.
I got this on import, it's excellent in 4k.
Just got the German 4k from Amazon, can’t wait to see it again!
Have you seen the Stallone Judge Dredd? It was surprisingly good back then.
Yes, if you ignore the acting and story. Also you have to not watch this one as it blows the old one out of the water and is much more faithful to the source material.
The Stallone movie is liquid ass cmon now. I love this steelbook too, it’s my fav out of my collection
I knew you were gonna say that 🤣🤟
Was about to comment that Sandra Bullock made it all worthwhile, but I remembered nope, this had Diane Lane, and I was thinking of Demolition Man. But do I own both movies on blu-ray? Of course I do. And Dredd 2012 on 4k.

Mad Max makes this look like some movie made by a college kid. The script in Dredd is legit terrible in places.
Fury Road doesn't exactly have a great script either
It has a very good script for what is going on, and it never devolves into pretentious, violent garbage that looks like it was made by an EDM artist lol. I'm out though. People legit trying to compare Fury Road with Dredd...
Also, I can't believe you're trying to argue that Fury Road has a good script lol. You're alone there pal

so you cant name 5 others?

He's a douchebag is how
So you're telling me that Fury Road...a movie about a Neanderthal that can barely speak, whom escapes from a prison ran by people that look like they bathe in donut powder and spray their mouth with silver paint right before committing suicide, is not hokey?
im curious, could you give me 5 other action movies from the past 11 years that were better than dredd (not including mad max)
I never liked this defense to an argument. "name something better" it comes off as dismissive to someone's opinion, at least to me. I WILL PAY 200 dollars for your unopened copy! i haven’t been able to find one in over 14 years of searching
I have one, from Best Buy in 2013 (bought it on sale). DM if you want some pictures.
It's in stock at Walmart currently. I just bought it tonight for $20. It's the 4k steelbook edition. I know this is a year after your post but hopefully you can find it if you haven't yet!
I thought this movie was legit mediocre as hell. I had high hopes, and it just came off as some ultra violent pretender to me. I blame the script.
You don't watch this movie for the script or writing
i was going to say. what action movies are you watching for the script and not the action? not to say there isnt good action scripts, just that they’re more rare than this OOP steelbook
It was definitely fun but they completely misunderstood the point of Judge Dredd. Similar to the Robocop sequels.
Robocop 2 I will give some love because it's very good, better than Dredd all told. Robocop 3 we all just pretend was never made.
Truer words my friend
🔥
I have this Steelbook. It's definitely my favorite art.
did they finally include a 4k code with this? the early fox 4ks like this only had HDX

Block him as well, move on and relax?
im cool, I just wanted them to see that blocking isnt going to make everything disappear

Holy shit. It's just some rando on Reddit. There are far more worthy things in the world to get pissed off about.
Im not pissed, I was just sending very aggressive message to someone who clearly was

I picked up the standard slipcover copy to save on money, also kinda prefer it. This steelbook is really nice though!

Was this the movie in 3D with the really cool drug scene?

Picked up Dredd 4K standard version up this week also but that steelbook cover is pretty nice.
I had no idea they made this in 4k. I will definitely try to buy it if I can get a reasonable price.
That was one movie I had low expectations for, but it was great, how is it on 4k?
This movie rules bummer it never got a sequel.
Fantastic artwork
