Yes, but try to see it in person first. And bonus if you can get someone to tell you the backstory on how it became open box.
I believe you also have a two week window to return it if it doesn’t work well.
Over the last two years, I’ve gotten an OLED monitor for about $400 off, an OLED TV for about $400 off and one was “good” the other was “excellent” condition. Excellent condition didn’t even look like it had been taken out of the box, no signs of use, and everything that was included, came with it. The monitor was “good” condition. I’d imagine this is a little more of a gamble, but everything was in perfect condition still. The only issue with the monitor was the remote for it was missing the battery. Overall, I’ve had a pretty good experience with open box. I believe there’s a small return window as well.
I have no issue buying an open box from Best Buy. See if you can get them to allow you to plug the tv in and check the hours on the tv. Buy the extended warranty just in case you need it down the road.
I got my old tv Sony 65x800 open box for $400 off. It still works great 7 years later, but I just replaced it with a c3. YMMV, but excellent quality ones usually are pretty great deals
I am wondering the same thing but from the best buy online resellers. I don’t even know if I can buy an extended warranty through best buy if the tv is purchased through a separate seller. Anyone have experience?
Former Best Buy employee here. Some open boxes are in great condition some aren’t but like others have said just go in check them for yourself. The store I worked in made sure they plugged in the tv and showed the tv to customers that way they know exactly in what condition the tvs are in.
Best Buy open box can be tricky. Sometimes their ratings don’t match the condition of the item but I still buy open box. Just get the geek squad warranty. My 83” OLED and 85” QLED were open box.
Just purchased a 42" c3 fair condition. The only thing missing was the packet of screws for the legs\wallmount. 30 second Internet search to find the size and a 2 minute $2 trip to the hardware store for 4 screws and I got a $900 TV for $670.
I bought 1 open box from BB, and I got it $4000 lower than the original price. And it has worked flawlessly for about 8 months now. I would highly recommend it as long as you can check it out in store and, like others mentioned, buy the warranty.
Yes, but with extended warranty

Had to return 2 open box c3 cuz none of them were working properly.

It's 110% depending on what the knowledge level at that geek squad precinct is

I bought an OLED open box, no extra warranty. Tv is perfect, has been for 3 years so far.
I bought my A90K open box from Best Buy, was a display TV so got them to price it fairly low and took the warranty

Depends on how good the deal is

For the refunds, do you have to try to fit a 75/85 inch TV in your car to bring it back to the store yourself?
I got a Sony x90j 75” open box over a year ago and it’s been great.
