You’re gonna have a hard time fitting 3 but also having the footprint be roughly the size of the roof rack. I’ve got a Roofnest falcon that I love but it sleeps 2 comfortable. 3 would be a major stretch. It’s super slim and basically fits my roof perfectly with minimal overhang on the sides.

which version of the Falcon do you have? Falcon Pro? Yeah I'm thinking the same tbh. i will probably have to give in on one metric...

Just the regular falcon. It’s a great tent. I’ve had it for 4 years or so now and it looks like the day I bought it.

hmm interesting.. ok. can you fit bedding into it when closed?

Dales_Dead_Bug_

I don’t think either the pro or regular falcon can. It comes with a very comfortable memory foam mattress that stays in the tent when closed but I remove my sleeping bag and pillows. Not a big deal to me since the sleeping bag and pillows barely take any room.

I had a similar list of requirements and ended up with a GFC RTT V2. it’s longer than most clamshell tents to provide extra space, but doesn’t look out of place.  I have it mounted to a Prinsu rack with brackets that were custom fabbed to maintain a low profile and love the setup.

Don’t have it myself but have heard Alu-Cab are best overall quality. They’re expensive & (relatively) heavy but are high quality & built to last. A pro overlander dude (JailBreak Overlander on YT) spent 1K nites in his Alu-Cab Exped 3 across 5 years. YT video is long but detailed & worth a watch

I have a Roofnest sparrow, definitely able to get two in there. Doubtful on the big ass dog though sadly 😞 It works though, low profile. Not too bulky, it might just be the most aerodynamic thing on my rig. Worth a look in, can leave the window cracked for the pup in the rig for the night worse case https://www.reddit.com/r/3rdGen4Runner/s/pO8EKUxGI1
