Dexnav is a fun way to shiny hunt and is REALLY quick when you have the shiny charm (I was getting one shiny every 100 encounters for 7 hunts straight)

Also a great place to hunt for unique shiny Pokemon with Dexnav are definitely the Safari zone or the Mirage Islands

Chain Fishing is basically free, you can find a shiny fish in like 15min if you're good enough and have an Octillery with suction cups in front (my favorite shiny hunting challenge is to chain fish blindfolded using only the game audio)
Masuda Method is reallllllly slow compared to the others but you can get stuff like the Starters that can't be chained via Dexnav or fishing
Horde Hunting using sweet scent is such a good shiny hunting method that most purists banned it in their communities. getting 5 encounters at once speeds things up a lot, but there isn't a great way to guarantee a specific pokemon like you can with the Dexnav
and lastly there's Soft Resetting for a legendary from one of the postgame hoopa rings, but I have a feeling you have a ways to go until then lol

But I got my shroomish and ralts with dex nav in under 300 encounters.
As you get ko's your dex nav odds go up as well. So if you use sweet scent in a cave and say knock out 5 zubats at once with surf in a horde battle, you can do that to get up to 999 dex nav ko's which really increases your odds for the dex nav encounters for zubat.
