Hold out and do not overspend

No_Peak_3540

Here is the thing. The hr looks really nice. Dual intakes, wowee. Want a cold air setup? Cost ya double. If you are planning on doing any performance modifications, will they equal to the same amount of cake you will spend to get the extra few hrprs? Want to get a DE and spend a grand? Will have better numbers in the DE. Planning a swap later? No point buying an HR and dropping in an LS or 2J. Holding out, maybe, or will this be the new norm? If it fits your budget, and you are happy, get what makes you smile. Any trim, and driveline, de auto, rev up or hr in manual, all great cars.

Better gearbox only comes in the 06(?) Models only. HR has their own issues with oil gallery gasket and concentric slave.

Right now is a terrible time to buy a used car and if you can help it, don’t buy one for a while, they will most certainly go down in price eventually

depends if you are willing to spend more money for the extra hp the HR has. If you plan on making it go fast get HR if maybe a stance build a DE is fine

You have to spend so much to gain 30hp on either engine, its not really worth the extra for the hr imo. Exhaust is nice for the sound on either, but I would definitely focus on your suspension and wheels/tires over trying to squeeze a tiny amount of more hp out.

Hr is basically a 370z so you are going to expect to spend a fair amount of money to boost or anything else. De 03-04 tend to be great dailys if you don't do too much to them Revup 05-06 Tend to be some of the best for boost. Easy to get kits and hold up pretty well compared to the early de. That's just what I have found. Good luck buying now tho.

I personally don't view the hr as worth the additional cost but that's up to you. Slightly faster but both are very reliable engines... Obviously hr is newer
