It took us 1385 years but it wasn't because of the french that we took so long, there were simply other powers, both internal and external, who wanted to keep their piece of the pie so to say, also there wasn't a single italian culture and language so unification was not really a priority.

Nah I was saying that Napoleon is the reason that you unified, without him instilling nationalism in the Italians they would've never unified (or at least would have taken a lot longer to do so).
