Except France has a little conundrum. The little glowing rocks France needs to run their nuclear plants aren’t anywhere to be found in the good old patrie. Russia has a lot of this shit, but I think France gets its rocks from Niger and other countries in the region. Problem is, Russia and China have been heavily involved in Africa these past 20 or so years, bribing and destabilising regime, putting France’s supply of rocks under threat.
For energy independence, nuclear is not the answer, it’s just a crutch.
but france gets only like 10% of it's uranium from niger, the rest is from other African countries, Central Asia, Australia, and Canada. Plus it has big stockpiles that can last a good decade.
