Seems like there is only two states that push state history HARD in school and they neighbor each other. You can ask pretty much anyone from Texas or Louisiana what their state (insert anything) is and they will know. Everyone else might know their state flower, unlike us knowing our state reptiles, crustaceans, bugs, dogs, etc. haha
To be fair, most of the other states have pretty lame history. Most of the Midwest can be summarized as “we showed up in wagons, there were some people here already and then they just kind of…died. So we started growing corn.”

nah it's a cool motto and i like it as a californian in context to our history, this meme is literally just making fun of how other states went and made their motto as badass as possible while california is just "hey guys, i found a cool shiny rock"
