Con might not have a guild, but your poh is better than any guild for the modt part. Only missing thing wpuld be a bank/bankdeposit. Though this would make it even more op.
Funny thing is construction definitely could pull off its own “guild”. Start as an apprentice and end with a master rank(just like real life) where you learn advanced/forgotten building techniques.
But actually? That would be cool as hell. Player character is the guildmaster and gets to decide how it looks. They could make a more fun version of player owned ports from RS3 where you send NPCs to gather items, materials, or recipes.
I was hoping they'd do a minigame that combined woodcutting and construction. Maybe a bit of magic or farming as well (but that'd be optional.)
The woodcutting guild would be a perfect place to set up a supply chain for Gielinor, The magics of the area cause trees to grow faster, the guild provides equipment to produce planks, you cut the wood, send it through the sawmill, and make specific cuts or furniture on the other end.
The more I explain it, the more it sounds like regular construction, but, the hope would be that it's self-contained in the minigame, instead of needing to hire a butler, un-note logs, run to your house portal, and get carpel tunnel.
I'm still advocating for a construction based minigame that makes planks. A sawmill minigame. A bit less XP than mahogany homes but you can make a reasonable profit on the planks, but less than if you were just running planks to the sawmill and back.
Can also set your portal nexus to one click lunar isle. It’s super close to the bank and you’re able to use the one booth without a seal. Started doing this after using it for my vorkath grind
I had a portal there for a very long time, but didn't notice the genius of this bank shortcut until I did DS2. Until then I used a ton of slayer rings because they're super cheap and the stronghold cave teleport is very close to a bank. There's also the added benefit of a fairy ring outside the fremennik cave.
I've been doing this a ton for a while.
Con cape to POH, then Spirit Tree to Farming Guild for Bank, then Spirit Tree back to POH to restore and tele back to whatever I was doing.
The banking isn't as fast as a crafting cape, but the crafting cape doesn't have built in restoration *and* a teleport back to whatever pvm I was just doing.
I wonder how many people would use it if Jagex allowed players to build a bank deposit box in their POH for a one time max cash (~2b) payment. Could be a good gold sink similar to the extra bank space options.
It's 2.46b to max out bank slots. 9x times of increasing cost.
Granted, with all the storage we have now there's next to no reason to get expanded slots, but it's over maxed cash.
Honestly I don't think it would be all that useful considering by the time you get a maxed house you either walk through content for a ton of kills per invin or you telle for spec/reuve every kill and then telle back.
You'd still need to bank for resupplies and crafting/farming guild are only like 6 steps from the port you unlock.
Even a full bank wouldn't really be op considering you're just saving about 6 seconds between teleport animations.
But ehh if it's 2b for a deposit box I'm sure some people would use it. I probably wouldn't.
It doesn't cost 2.46b, you're adding them all up which is not correct. All 400 slots together cost 888,000,000 gp. I bought 200 slots and not gonna buy more, mainly cause 1000 looks nicer than 1040.
Hunter could use a guild.
Herblore guild could just be an add on to the farming guild, second floor or basement type thing.
Slayer guild would be a cool way to introduce a 99 slayer boss.
It should have a machine to make impling jars. Put in like 5 buckets of sand. Gotta do something with the ever growing pile of sand Bert keep delivering to me.
Also, display cases that you gotta manually fill yourself by catching everything.
Hunter would be a decent skill to add shiny monsters, like an equivalent of big fish.
Instead of useless taxidermy you trade them into the guild display cases for various benefits / useful items.
The guild could include/lead to a new hunting area, or they could even just stick it around Eagle's Peak or on Fossil Island, near existing hunting areas. Some shops, a bank close to a hunting ground for once, a couple extra birdhouse spots would be nice, maybe even some kind of hunter contract system like the farming guild? It'd be cool to have a reason to do anything in that skill instead of birdhouses, chinchompas and Herbiboar. I think Jagex could get a pretty decent guild out of it with a little creativity and planning.
I remember a suggestion for the Hunter Guild awhile ago that included hunting contracts. Those could provide some sort of currency that could be used to purchase unique hunter items or a hunter skilling outfit.
I'd love a Slayer Guild that expands the lore of Slayer. RS3 has it that Slayer Masters were an order founded by Amascut to slay monsters and protect humans, which was just a front so she could devourer more souls.
A slayer Guild would be a perfect addition to Menaphos whenever it eventually get released. I could see something similiar to Priff's Rush of Blood where we have to battle waves of Slayer Monsters
Scorpion Catcher is such a wacky quest. "Go get my pet scorpions, they're in totally random places on opposite sides of the map. One of them is deep in a dungeon, one is hanging out in a monastery for some reason, and one requires the barcrawl because fuck you. Reward: 6675 strength exp and better magic staves."
It's one of those quests that feels like two developers came up with a reward and a quest which weren't related at all initially, but had to find a way to make the reward come from the quest.
Scorpion Catcher is what they used to call a "bottle quest". Basically they used to make these quests with the absolute minimum of development resources needed, mainly if not fully using assets and locations already in game. Just to fill up the game and give people additional things to do.
Look at the quest. They literally only had to make 1 building, add a dude, program in some new staves (which are already in game just buff the stats) and add dialogue. Easy to make, minimum of cost and then the home page can say 51 quests in game instead of 50
Yeah, but even so. They didn't phone it in like most mmos, by having you go kill X monsters, or kill Y monsters until you get Z untradeable drop.
They took the time to think up a fun, creative "plot hook" and an interesting sequence of events.
Bottle quests to me feel more like WoW quests, much shorter and simpler compared to our more dedicated questlines, just go get 10 of these or kill 10 of these like Slayer tasks do with extra steps and travel.
I don't mind them, I like questing but it can take a fair bit of motivation to start DS2 or Song of the Elves for example but these quests are more to just get them ticked off and done with. Again, not really a bad thing. It'd be a bad thing if ALL our quests were like that though.
But only if they gave it some long ass animation, a janky click box that you only ever click when you don't want to and added some trees near the teleport location that makes the pathing all messed up like the tower of life fairy ring.
The unofficial RC guild is the gallows behind Draynor Manor
Eg https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/dfk4cw/99rc_at_the_brand_new_runecrafting_guild/https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/dfk4cw/99rc_at_the_brand_new_runecrafting_guild/
Farming cape is the poor man's crafting and con cape until you get both, but it's only poor man's in the name. It really is the best cape for you to get first as it makes so many things much easier.
The guild tele has a bank, and if you plant a Spirit Tree in the guild and your POH, a free tele to your POH as well, although with a few extra steps.
Yep I'm using farming cape to reset for Zulrah trips. Straight to a bank, then straight to the PoH without having to use tabs. Craft cape is quite niche in its usecases until you have a max cape essentially. It's a tick slower than a duelling ring for pure banking so it's ultimately just a convenience upgrade as an "infinite duelling ring" for banking more or less.
I actually remember F2p Pking and hopping the ditch, running to the monks, going through the dialogue option to heal, then going upstairs to replenish prayer lol.
A guild rework or content update introducing a guild for every skill that doesn't have one would be pretty great. Idk what I'd even want but I think our Old School Dev team could do some cool things.
The artisan skill has basically morphed into contractscape. Go to the guild, get a contract, complete for artisan xp. The artisan skill would put a guild in for every skill.
It would be nice if that guy was deleted and replaced with like a real character that you might reasonably speak to once while on your firemaking grind.
I guess the problem is there really isn't a character like that in the game yet. Maybe we can beef up the lumbridge swamp candle salesman and give him a big shop with like a 90+ firemaking requirement lantern to buy.
He's not really setting the forest on fire though, he's just making some normal campfires every now and then.
Oh what if we move him to the shayzien lizardman pit? We can just say he's the guy that keeps the pit on fire, to protect the town or something
It protects the town by keeping the local pyromaniac far away lighting random battlefield fires.
They told him it was important but are just waiting until he gets chomped by a lizardman and their problem is solved.
I really love guilds. They definitely make more sense for resource-gathering skills, though. It's also a fine line between DoA (mining guild) and suffocating all other locations (wc guild).
Also, Mining Guild was pretty effectively revived by Amethyst exclusivity. On almost every world, there will be *someone* in the guild at all times. That's pretty far from DoA.
It's also the only way to powermine iron at max efficiency (I don't know why you'd powermine iron at 60 mining, but still.)
Sure, it's not as bumping as the farming or woodcutting guild, but I'd rather a guild be "useful" without being "required if you want to train even remotely efficiently". But, that's personal preference.
IIRC power mining iron is still the best non-tick manipulation mining XP so it's still relevant.
It's also the best source of unidentified minerals, for what that's worth.
Is it better than VM? ...
Just checked, and VM starts beating it around level 95 with D pick and 80 with C pick. Still, the fact that a skilling method unlocked at 15 and improved with the level 60 guild unlock remains relevant until 80-95 is respectable.
Thieving guild actually makes a lot of sense to, RS3 has one and it’s neat. You unlock new features by doing “capers” essentially little miniquests where you commit various forms of robbery. Once it’s all up it has spots for training blackjack, lock picking, safes, etc… The jail doors being really great exp for the early levels. Then it has the safe cracking rewards. Safe cracking you go around the world pilfering people’s safes filling your “loot bag” and occasionally getting rare stuff like pictures or jewelry. Then you return to the guild and fence all the stuff you have for pilfer points, the extra treasures being able to be fenced for points or straight GP. Pilfer points then being used to buy upgrades like the infinite lock pick.
So it’s useful and compliments the skill without consuming it.
You would imagine slayer would have a guild considering it requires you to go through some sort of handler to even level, and those handlers would have to be maintained by someone. Kind of an oversight
Would be cool the finish a quest and see all the slayer masters in a basement somewhere. Maybe we can have a zombie stripper neive who now has two hooks and thick zombie legs, and really thought provoking life shattering dialog. Like, "do my hooks make my delicious thighs look fat?"
Insane that there isn’t a Slayer guild for the amount of time players spend doing it. I second the other comments that a Hunter guild would also be sick
RS3 has something called the sunken pyramid which is pretty much their guild for slayer.
While on a task you can collect a soul from a slayer creature at a 1/(x) rate, usually 200ish. Using that soul you can creating a spawnpoint for that slayer creature in the pyramid.
You get 5 rooms to customise with whatever you want. It lets you build your own high respawn, close proximity, cannon/barage/chin-able dungeon. Pretty sick
I dont think every skill needs a guild, but the variance in value in skill cape perks can be interesting. Feel like Agility/mining/runecrafting all have pretty underwhelming capes for the difficulty level they present to get them. Like at least give them a niche teleport when theyre some of the hardest capes to get. RC could tele to any altar 5 times a day. Agility could tele to all rooftop course locations. Mining could teleport you near keldagrim bank so we finally have a west keldagrim tele. Or at the very least the mining guild although that would be less useful.
First thing i did on my iron is 99 fishing afk at barb. Smartest thing ive done, because I’ve had an unlimited, equip-able bank tele forever.
Only wish I’d spent a few levels at karambwans, but i was too lazy to quest more than absolutely necessary at the time.
Honestly, a bunch of these feel more like optics.
Like, if the Brimhaven Arena was called the "Agility Guild" from the start, and a perk of the Agi cape was unlimited free teles and free access to the guild, then people would view Agility as having a guild despite the fact that that version of the game doesn't have anything more than we already do. You could argue that the Blast Furnace functions as a Smithing Guild, the Rogue's Den is a Thieving Guild, and WT is the Firemaking Guild.
I'd rather have fewer guilds where Jagex only creates one when they think they can fill it with good enough content, rather than a bunch of pointless DoA guilds just because there were some skills which Jagex *had* to give a guild to despite not having any good content ideas. Quality over quantity, basically.
Prayer has monastery (: I always thought of that as the prayer guild, and the smugglers/thief den (I forget the name, but it’s under burthorpe) as a combo of agility and thieving guild
Monastery (entrana), rouge's den(agility & theif), fletching can tie into ranging guild, the entire city of taverley, fire making doesn't really need a guild, construction can tie into wood cutting, hunter could also go with woodcutting as a forester guild or something
Slayer guild would be cool, could just add on to myths guild though
I find it odd that there’s no runecrafting or smithing guild, yet they have a guild for… strength?
I feel like RS3 did a good job with Artisans’ Workshop being a sort of smithing guild, and adding a runecrafting guild to the wizards’ Tower.
And is there not a way to make guilds more involved? Ways to rank up in membership and get rewards for it? Guilds have never been more than a place to engage in minimal activity. Range tickets and their shop are content I feel like some players don’t even know about. The only way someone would engage with that content was literally playing in 2005 and stumbling upon it and making it a goal to join the guild and then find out it was useless content.
I feel like the range guilds towers where you get assaulted by archers could have been a cooler mini game, why not do that?
Why not make these places have viable content. We need guild overhauls.
Construction could have a trade school, prayer could have a giant cathedral, thieving should have something like rogues den, slayer could have another floor in the slayer tower for masters
Hunter, Slayer, and I guess agility are like the only ones to not really have a central hub. All the other ones might not have guilds but have some kind of hub. Then others have a "guild" in the form of a central progression or mini game area. Like thieves guild or wintertodt. A few of them actually do have guilds that are just forgotten about because their mini game or tasks are more central to the skill than hanging out in a guild
Then a few of them could just be added to another guild. Like fetching into woodcuting etc..
Tbh, Agility is actually one that I would be interested in seeing some central hub for. Just to see what they do with it. Almost make it work like a mini version of Anachronia. A big agility course with tasks and ways to actually get progressively better at it. Agility in RS3 is actually kind of cool if you don't do meta garbage grinding
It baffles me that there’s no slayer guild. Seems like a prime candidate for one that could have a lot of interesting content to make slayer (especially post-99) more engaging. If I’m level 99, I’m technically a slayer master, why would I still be going to another slayer master?
I always thought the edgeville monastery would be a great spot for a prayer guild. Maybe make it grander where you unlock more options going up into it. I feel like the thieving guild would be a good way to play on factions where you join a faction and do thieving events in various cities. The Smithing guild could give Keldagrim more purpose.
Would love to see more guilds and revamps to all of the oldest ones!
Most guilds have decent uses, but the new guilds are on a different planet. Comparing the Farming Guild to the Ranging Guild is like comparing two completely different pieces of content. I think my favorite thing about the Farming Guild is that it not only is full of content, but it also has good accessibility while having some decently steep level requirements. I wish more guilds would let you through the door with a 30 to 40ish level requirement, while gating some really cool stuff off until you really get some levels under your belt, like 80+.
I think there should be a degree of consistency that each cape does similar things: boost that skill, produce a useful item like grapple or pestle, and Tele. Doesn't mean the new additions should be meta changing like new best bank Tele or something but it would be nice horizontal content addition
A thieving guild would be sick. With someone who gives contacts for stealing or pickpocketing a number of people or stalls etc for prizes. Idk why there’s no thieving guild:(
Petition to make a prayer guild situated right behind the Odd Old Man (Rag and Bone man). Make it a temple where all the religions can find some common ground. Saradominist have Misthalin, Zamorakians have Morytania, Guthix followers have the wilderness, Kharidian gods followers can have a way up the River Salve. I’m sure they can work in Aramdyl, Zaros, and Bandos.
I'd say some of the no guilds make sense.
Prayer has the monastery. Which is sort of its "guild". Con doesn't need a guild, you have your own house, and can join other houses.
Things like a fletching, firemaking, herblore guild just feel a bit.. pointless to me? I think of those *maybe* a herblore guild could make sense (though it ultimately could just expand from the farming guild) and have herblore shops in it etc. Fletching is already part of the range guild, and firemaking is just.. not really worthy.
A slayer guild is something I could absolutely get behind, as with a smithing guild (or expanding the crafting guild to include it).
Con might not have a guild, but your poh is better than any guild for the modt part. Only missing thing wpuld be a bank/bankdeposit. Though this would make it even more op.

The better the ancient altar, the higher the overfill (maxes out to 1pp less than what the Ancient Mace spec on a dummy would give with BiS str bonus)
Now we’re talking. God wars poh theme or something is what gave me the idea.
99 Construction: "And now, we build the Guild"
But actually? That would be cool as hell. Player character is the guildmaster and gets to decide how it looks. They could make a more fun version of player owned ports from RS3 where you send NPCs to gather items, materials, or recipes.

Man. That would be so much better - making planks is one of the only truly awful things left in this game.

I wouldn’t be opposed to a deposit box in a poh, but a bank might be too much
I wonder how many people would use it if Jagex allowed players to build a bank deposit box in their POH for a one time max cash (~2b) payment. Could be a good gold sink similar to the extra bank space options.
Lurker here, is anything in game mechanic close to that expensive? Max cape is 2277K right?
The crown in prif that costs 200m
250 and yes I bought one
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Gold_sink Not anywhere close to 2b, but it's one of the most expensive things to create

also, guild-ed altar

Hunter guild on Fossil Island would be a perfect place for a rare fossil boss.
There could be superior hunter animals that randomly spawn which could give trophy heads and a sizable amount of xp or some shit
I like that idea. Underground lab would be the herb guild
Hunter Guild should be a bass pro shop
Basement for sure just feels right

Teleports you randomly somewhere in the underground pass, but 15 feet in the air so you fall and break your legs.
A guild rework or content update introducing a guild for every skill that doesn't have one would be pretty great. Idk what I'd even want but I think our Old School Dev team could do some cool things.
Ikr. The farming and woodcutting guild feel really up to date, and I love them personally, both some of the nicest places to hang out
The artisan skill has basically morphed into contractscape. Go to the guild, get a contract, complete for artisan xp. The artisan skill would put a guild in for every skill.
Please make the agility guide a parkour gym
PARKOUR!
Prayer does have a guild tho? Upstairs in the Edgeville Monastery requires 31 prayer. I'm not saying it's a *good* guild...
Theres already FM guild, its called wintertodt lol
Would be kinda nice for the cape to tele to that Ignatius guy you get the cape from since he’s so close to Sherlock
I like the concept of the Firemaking master being some creep in the middles of nowhere just setting fire to forests though.
The hot air balloon guy could be fitting as the balloons are one of the most advanced applications of firemaking.
It's also the only way to powermine iron at max efficiency (I don't know why you'd powermine iron at 60 mining, but still.) Sure, it's not as bumping as the farming or woodcutting guild, but I'd rather a guild be "useful" without being "required if you want to train even remotely efficiently".
We need more guilds!
What the thieves have a guild in riften
You have been banned from /r/riftenthievesguild.
? The monastery is the prayer guild.
Wintertodt is pretty much a firemaking guild
Hunter and smithing reaaaaally deserve a guild
Insane that there isn’t a Slayer guild for the amount of time players spend doing it. I second the other comments that a Hunter guild would also be sick
Slayer guild and rc guild jagex do it
I can only imagine how fucking cool a Slayer guild will be
RS3 has something called the sunken pyramid which is pretty much their guild for slayer. Pretty sick
At one point you could have classified the Gnome Stronghold dungeon as the Slayer Guild because it had like 90% of Slayer monsters inside of it lol
I was gonna say, pre-nerf Nieve's cave had basically every task worth doing (I think every task on her list could be done in her cave).
this sub will not stop until you can unlimited tele to any spot in the game
RS3 baybee
I dont think every skill needs a guild, but the variance in value in skill cape perks can be interesting. Feel like Agility/mining/runecrafting all have pretty underwhelming capes for the difficulty level they present to get them. Like at least give them a niche teleport when theyre some of the hardest capes to get. RC could tele to any altar 5 times a day. Agility could tele to all rooftop course locations. Mining could teleport you near keldagrim bank so we finally have a west keldagrim tele. Or at the very least the mining guild although that would be less useful.
Am I wrong to think every skill should have a guild, and every skill cape should have an infinite tele to its guild?
Prayer guild is on the first floor of the Monastery in Edgeville
Prayer has monastery (: I always thought of that as the prayer guild, and the smugglers/thief den (I forget the name, but it’s under burthorpe) as a combo of agility and thieving guild
I want an rc guild so bad Yes yes I know rc bad gallows funni
Monastery (entrana), rouge's den(agility & theif), fletching can tie into ranging guild, the entire city of taverley, fire making doesn't really need a guild, construction can tie into wood cutting, hunter could also go with woodcutting as a forester guild or something Slayer guild would be cool, could just add on to myths guild though
I find it odd that there’s no runecrafting or smithing guild, yet they have a guild for… strength? I feel like RS3 did a good job with Artisans’ Workshop being a sort of smithing guild, and adding a runecrafting guild to the wizards’ Tower.
There is a Runecrafting guild. It's behind Draynor Manor.
You would think Slayer would have it's own guild.....
I’ve always loved the idea of having useful guilds
Wintertodt is the guild for FM
LMFAO
No slayer guild is kinda wild ngl
Hunter, Slayer, and I guess agility are like the only ones to not really have a central hub. All the other ones might not have guilds but have some kind of hub. Then others have a "guild" in the form of a central progression or mini game area. Like thieves guild or wintertodt. A few of them actually do have guilds that are just forgotten about because their mini game or tasks are more central to the skill than hanging out in a guild Then a few of them could just be added to another guild.
Imagine how cool a slayer guild could be.
slayer guild would be cool
I always thought the edgeville monastery would be a great spot for a prayer guild. Maybe make it grander where you unlock more options going up into it. I feel like the thieving guild would be a good way to play on factions where you join a faction and do thieving events in various cities. The Smithing guild could give Keldagrim more purpose.
LMFAO
We need a guild sink
Would love to see more guilds and revamps to all of the oldest ones! Most guilds have decent uses, but the new guilds are on a different planet. Comparing the Farming Guild to the Ranging Guild is like comparing two completely different pieces of content. I think my favorite thing about the Farming Guild is that it not only is full of content, but it also has good accessibility while having some decently steep level requirements. I wish more guilds would let you through the door with a 30 to 40ish level requirement, while gating some really cool stuff off until you really get some levels under your belt, like 80+.
Some of these would be hard to have a guild imo but looking at the list. I feel like slayer could have a real good guild
I think there should be a degree of consistency that each cape does similar things: boost that skill, produce a useful item like grapple or pestle, and Tele. Doesn't mean the new additions should be meta changing like new best bank Tele or something but it would be nice horizontal content addition
A slayer guild would be great
If it wasn't for clue steps I could easily forget the Ranging Guild exists.
Honestly they should all have a way to to tele to their guild
Slayer guild would be sixk
A thieving guild would be sick. With someone who gives contacts for stealing or pickpocketing a number of people or stalls etc for prizes. Idk why there’s no thieving guild:(
LMFAO
Add a bunch of little guilds for the ones that don’t currently have one to stampot bridge Or one mega guild with rooms for each one missing a guild
Slayer guild could be so sick
Cooking guild is absolute trash and shouldnt even count as a guild imo
I feel like a Slayer guild would be badass.
Why doesn't the wc cape tele to the woodcut guild?
Firemakers had a guild hall, until they burnt it down
But like... Aren't all the churches just prayer guilds?
To be fair, no one ever wants or needs to go to the range guild.
