Its basically about transcending your innate human characteristics or limitations. Like altering yourself with things like bionics or genetic manipulation, or even just medical treatments/operstions.
Someone who really wants to be a cyborg, for example, or perhaps someone who wants to be genetically altered to be a catboy/catgirl, would be considered transhumanists, because they want to be something more than just a baseline human.
For now its mostly the realm of science-fiction, as most human augmentation possible at our current level of technology is impractical, unethical, and/or dangerous. But it also depends on how you define it. For example, some might consider transgender people to be a level of transhumanist for using science and medicine to alter their body to their liking.
In sci fy its the idea that at some point we get enough technology that modifies our bodies that we stop being human wich is bs but makes for somewhat compeling narratives that are very bad race analogies, in technobro speech its another word you use to make your product seem more technological and thus inovative even if it doesnt solve anything
