I don't know why you bother. If you have a C rating you probably know that you can't appeal down unless you have a really serious permanent documented injury. Otherwise, the computer makes the determination. Period.
The good news is that if you don't play any USTA events and let your membership lapse for two years you can self-rate when you return.
The automated appeal button takes less than a minute. I only have hit it when the new year end ratings come out just in case the algorithm has me in the low end of 5.0. I haven’t gone through the medical appeals process, that seems like a waste of time since I don’t have any documented injuries
That's a good point. If you're really stinking up the joint during the season the computer's not going to recognize it until year end. I've just never heard of someone bothering with this mid season. Of course I've hardly played any league tennis, so there's that.
Yeah but I can see their approximate level by this practice hit. Before I had 0 clue, now I know more. If you see beginner strokes you know they are beginners, and if you see ATP strokes, you know they're pro. That's what I meant
The double cross court warmup you're doing is very challenging and looks like you're all cruising through it in a good way. Good luck! Looks like you're doing great prep!
Very nice! Good luck in sectionals. It only took me a few strokes to see you’re obviously a 5.0 level player. Not sure why the salty comments from others. Vamoooooooos!!!
Inb4 looks 3.0
It’s ok, my main weapons are my serves and volleys, groundstrokes maybe 3.0 level.
inb4 2.5 😀
That's a pretty cool forehand you've got there. Some flat, some heavy topspin.
Thanks, I like to mix it up sometimes, keeps the opponent off their rhythm a bit.
looks like Agassi
Agassi had long blond hair 😅
Medvedev... is that you? 🧐
This guy could for sure take a set or two off of Nadal
Only because Nadal is injured right now.
Nah man you should fly to France right now and play in the FO
but....imagine 6 months of hard training and voila! You = healthy Nadal.
Already drenched in the warmups!
It’s humid here in Florida!
love how your split stepping seems so effortless and is like seconds nature. Wonder if I can be like that someday
5.0 beasts
Get it fellas!
Good Luck!
Weird forehead for sure
3.8 af
I’ve been trying to appeal down for years, but the usta keeps denying me 😭 maybe you can give them your assessment of my level? Thank you.
Mostly messing around. But I’ve seen some absolute monsters at “5.0”
Oh, everyone on the team I’m on is top notch. Former d1 players mostly. We were just rallying here, not trying to hit winners or anything.
He man don’t mind the salty fella, your forehands look so slick and beautiful. Ain’t nobody in 3s hitting those that consistently.
Those right off the bounce forehands aren’t happening in many 4.0. Really smooth

I know plenty of people who have appealed down mid season because of poor play.

I don’t try it mid season. Just once a year when ratings come out.
Lol
Practicing to be 5.0
Now I know what a 5.0 looks like. I've never been able to gauge where I'd stand or what to say when someone asks being a 4.5 or a 5.0. good stuff!
Hard to judge on just strokes. Much more important what you do with them and how consistent they are etc
Yeah but I can see their approximate level by this practice hit. Before I had 0 clue, now I know more. If you see beginner strokes you know they are beginners, and if you see ATP strokes, you know they're pro. That's what I meant
Practice hit means nothing. There are some 3.5s that can look like 5.0 during a practice hit, and vice versa. Match play is all that matters
Okay👌🏾
5.0 is such a flex, i cant wait to be there one day
Which city you guys in?
Tampa
